Hilary Rubin 44 year old entrepreneur, Mother of 4 and
accomplished real estate developer has done it again.
Having agreed with her husband Scott (a successful 51 year old
developer from the mid-west) that another child was out of the question
(Rubin has 2 boys in their 20's and 2 together under 6), Rubin decided
she wanted to keep diapers around in spite of the age driven mutual
decision.
In early 2006, Hilary rolled out her
latest enterprise "Babycakes of Scottsdale". The concept is one
that offers gift giving in High-Brow style.
Rubin has designed
1, 2 and 3 tier layer cakes. Don't get hungry..
These are made of perfectly rolled onesies, receiving blankets,
playful toys, private label garments and more. Not appetizing,
throw in couture silk flowers, imported ribbon and frost it with a
Barney's gift card or a Tiffany silver spoon. Finally, tulle
wrap completes what appears to be the greatest gift for the
mother-to-be, and the giver is the star of every shower. Several
clients have requested centerpiece cakes for special events.
Celebrity requests have already come in.
Rubin felt it was time for an
alternative to the spoon and rattle. That tiny infant
departments in just a few select retail venues lacks the finesse and the
choices she prefers when gift giving. If it is all about
presentation then Rubin has succeeded.

As you said the baby cake would be a beautiful gift and it was that.
This was a very "upscale" baby shower for my daughter in law and she
was very pleased. And of course everyone wanted to know where it came
